Warn Act
PROTECTIONS AFFORDED TO EMPLOYEES THROUGHOUT TEXAS
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act was specifically implemented to protect workers, families, and communities. Under the WARN Act, most employers with 100 or more employees are required to provide notification to employees of any planned closings or layoffs. Employers must provide notice at least 60 calendar days advance notice to ensure the financial safety of employees. Employees who are protected under the WARN Act can include managers, supervisors, and hourly or salaried workers.
