Arctic Cat
ARCTIC CAT
Arctic Cat is a Minnesota based manufacturer which produces snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and at one point, personal watercraft at its manufacturing facility in Thief River Falls and St. Cloud, Minnesota. The company recently announced its intent to expand these facilities, as well as add a new production line in Thief River Falls. Arctic Cat was formed in 1960 after business owner Edgar Hetteen left his prior similar company, Polaris Industries. The company experienced hard times during the 1980s in an attempt to expand, but rebranded itself in 1996 to Arctic Cat.
Arctic Cat was the manufacturer of the popular personal watercraft Tigershark, which was manufactured from 1993 to 1999. However, around this time, the company experienced further financial loss and decided to end watercraft manufacturing. Therefore, any Tigershark watercraft that is in existence today is over 15 years old, and may not be in the most reliable shape.
WATERCRAFT ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES
Watercraft accidents often result in serious injuries that result in months of rehabilitative care and mountains of medical expenses. Injuries can occur in many ways on a personal watercraft, including a crash into another watercraft or stationary item, falling off the watercraft, or being struck by the powerful jet thrust of the watercraft.
As a victim of a watercraft accident, you should not be responsible for these types of expenses. If you have been injured in an Arctic Cat watercraft accident, you may be entitled to receive the following damages:
- Medical expenses
- Rehabilitation costs
- Lost wages
- Future earnings
- Pain and suffering
- Loss of consortium (for spouses)
Many watercraft accidents involving Arctic Cats stem from the manufacturing of certain models or the inability of the watercraft operator to accurately maintain the watercraft. However, some watercraft accidents may be caused by the negligence of the watercraft operator alone. An experienced watercraft accident attorney will be able to assist you in determining the cause for the accident and the route you can take to receive the compensation you deserve for your injuries.
MALLEY LAW FIRM | HOUSTON WATERCRAFT ACCIDENT ATTORNEY
If you or a loved one have been injured in an accident involving an Arctic Cat personal watercraft, do not hesitate to contact the Malley Law Firm. The Arctic Cat Tigershark personal watercraft have been off the market for nearly two decades. Based on this fact alone, it is difficult for Tigershark owners to keep up with ongoing maintenance and any parts which may be replaced. Therefore, accidents caused by lack of ongoing maintenance or simply the manufacture of the watercraft are all too common on major waterways. Tony Malley has years of experience in assisting clients with claims against Arctic Cat or based on negligent use of an Arctic Cat Tigershark.
